Terms & Conditions of Hire

Honey Tree Events: Terms and Conditions
All items hired from Honey Tree Events will be subject to the following Terms and Conditions.
1. THE HIRER
The Hirer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted these terms and conditions.
2. PERIOD OF HIRE
The period of hire is considered to be from the time the goods leave the Honey Tree Events warehouse until the same goods are returned to the Honey Tree Events warehouse.
3. HIRE CHARGES

All hired goods will be charged for, whether used or not.

Additional hire charges will be applied if goods are not returned on the arranged day.

The hire charges are for guidance in estimating costs only and do not represent a fixed offer.

The hire charges do not include attendance by Honey Tree Events staff except during the actual process of installation and removal.
4. PAYMENT FOR HIRE
Unless otherwise agreed, payment of the invoice shall be made as follows:

30% deposit upon confirmation

Payment due in full 14 days prior to event date
5. RECOVERY CLAUSE
If you fail to settle your account with Honey Tree Events, you agree to pay all costs, fees, charges, and disbursements (including agency commissions and legal costs on a Solicitor/Client basis) incurred or to be incurred by Honey Tree Events in recovering any monies due.
6. VARIATION OF HIRE CHARGES
Honey Tree Events reserves the right to amend hire charges in the event of variations to the order due to unforeseen or unquoted changes occurring before or during the period of hire.
7. CONDITIONAL CHANGES
The Hirer must provide timely notice for any cancellation to prepared quotes and invoices. Costs will vary under these circumstances:

30% Non-Refundable Deposit
-
50% Cancellation Fee if notice is given within 30 days prior to the event.

75% Cancellation Fee if notice is given within 29-14 days prior to the event.
-
90% Cancellation Fee if notice is given within 14-5 days prior to the event.
The Hirer agrees that upon deposit payment, any changes to the items listed in the quote or invoice may not be available for amendments, alterations, or changes unless approved in writing by Honey Tree Events and deemed without negative financial impact to Honey Tree Events.
8. SITE AND INSTALLATION
(i) Conditions of the Site: Honey Tree Events' quotes and invoices are based on the assumption that the site where the equipment will be installed or to which goods are to be delivered is:

Level, solid ground with appropriate access for heavy vehicles, and
-
All utilities are clearly identified and marked.
If the site does not comply with these requirements, Honey Tree Events may, at its discretion, rescind the Quotation or Invoice by giving oral or written notice or by allocating additional hire charges. In such cases, Honey Tree Events shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or expense resulting from such rescission of the contract.
(ii) Exclusion of Liability for Damage to Site and Services: Whether the site complies with the aforementioned requirements, Honey Tree Events shall not be under any liability whatsoever to:

Make good any damage to the site;

Damage to drain pipes, cables, or other services buried under the site or otherwise concealed; or
-
Any consequential loss resulting from such damage unless an accurate plan showing the precise position of such drains, pipes, or cables or other services has been supplied to Honey Tree Events.
(iii) Position of Marquees/Structures, Staging, and Equipment: It is the Hirer’s responsibility to have a representative on the site for the purpose of positioning marquees, staging, and all equipment unless prior arrangements have been made. If the Hirer fails to provide a representative on the site, Honey Tree Events may install the marquees, staging, and equipment where most appropriate and shall be deemed to have fulfilled its obligation.
9. PERMITS & DEVELOPMENT APPLICATIONS
The Hirer is responsible for applying for and obtaining all necessary permits from any relevant authority that has a vested or lawful interest. Any costs incurred by Honey Tree Events due to delays or modifications arising from the absence of, or misinterpretation of, any such necessary agreements and permits shall be payable to Honey Tree Events by the Hirer and shall form part of the Hire Charge.
10. ELECTRICAL SUPPLY TO SITE
The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that the venue has sufficient power supply, plug points, connectors, and other facilities for the lighting and other electrical requirements for the site and is responsible for all costs incurred.
11. SELF-INSTALLATION
When the Hirer selects delivery and collection only, this is considered a “self-installation” arrangement. Under this option, all equipment provided by Honey Tree Events will be supplied clean, safely packed, and ready for use. Setup and packdown services are not included in the pricing unless specifically stated otherwise.Written setup instructions will be provided to assist the Hirer. The Hirer is responsible for the collection and return of all hired equipment unless delivery has been pre-arranged with Honey Tree Events. Please note that Honey Tree Events will not supply labour under a self-installation arrangement. Should the Hirer request site attendance for any reason, additional charges will apply.
12. INSTALLATION & DISMANTLING
Where installation and removal by Honey Tree Events is included in an order, labor will be provided for installation and dismantling of hired equipment and property. Such costs will be included in the hire charges and do not include installation and setup of any decorations and/or equipment not supplied by Honey Tree Events. No guarantee will be given by Honey Tree Events that hire items will be removed the day following an event, although the company will do its best to meet the wishes of clients whenever possible.
13. RETURN OF EQUIPMENT
All equipment hired from Honey Tree Events is to be returned in a clean, dry condition. This includes staging, marquees, crockery, glassware, and cutlery. Crockery, glassware, and cutlery are to be rinsed and returned in the correct packaging. China, glassware, cutlery, or tablecloths not in carrying boxes for collection will be considered lost or damaged, and replacement charges will be payable. Any items, particularly crockery, cutlery, glassware, and staging, returned unclean will attract a minimum cleaning fee of $66 per hour.
14. COMPLAINTS/DISCREPANCIES
Matters arising as to shortage, discrepancies, or damage on delivery/receipt of goods should be made as soon as possible after taking delivery and before use. Complaints will not be entertained once the event is over and goods have been returned.
15. LOSS OR DAMAGE
The Hirer is wholly responsible for all equipment belonging to Honey Tree Events while in the Hirer’s possession. The Hirer is responsible for making appropriate financial recompense for the loss or damage to goods hired from Honey Tree Events, including breakages of crockery and/or glass, staging, and/or theft or burglary. Appropriate recompense will be required unless it can be proved that the loss or damage to hired items was caused by faulty material, workmanship, or negligence on the part of Honey Tree Events, or can be considered fair wear and tear.
16. INSURANCE
Honey Tree Events carries limited insurance on all items. However, the Hirer shall be responsible for all items during the time of hire.
17. LIABILITY TO THIRD PARTIES
Honey Tree Events will not be responsible for, and the Hirer will indemnify Honey Tree Events against, claims for injury to persons or loss of, or damage to, property howsoever caused, unless it can be proved that such injury or damage was caused by faulty material, workmanship, or negligence on the part of Honey Tree Events.
18. WAITING TIME CHARGES
If the Hirer and Vendor has arranged a specific delivery or return time with Honey Tree Events and the hirer fails to arrive within that agreed timeframe, a waiting fee of $75 per hour will apply. This fee is charged in full 1-hour blocks for each hour the warehouse is kept open beyond the agreed time—unless alternative arrangements were made in advance. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to arrive on time to avoid incurring this charge.
